Dear Sicomac Families,
We are already in mid-November, and it's a beautiful time of year! I hope you all enjoyed the extra-long weekend with your families. While our school has been quiet these past few days, we are excited to welcome back our students tomorrow. Personally, I'm looking forward to getting back into classrooms to see the incredible teaching and learning happening first-hand.
Although last week was a short one, there's so much going on at Sicomac that I wanted to share this special Monday edition of the Sicomac Scoop to keep everyone up to date!
Student Council Elections
On Election Day, or 4th and 5th graders participated in our annual Student Council Elections, selecting a President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. We encouraged all students to think of this as an opportunity to demonstrate leadership, make informed choices, and have a voice in shaping the future of our school. Pictured above are 5th grade students watching the speeches before casting their votes.
I am extremely proud of our voters and all of the students who courageously ran for office. Each candidate gave an excellent speech, created thoughtful campaign materials and demonstrated true school spirit.
Congratulations to our newly elected Student Council officers:
President: Mattea Giudice
Vice President: Jameson Centrello
Secretary: Kevin DeLorenzo
Treasurer: Zachary Molina
Voting for Class Representatives will continue this week. I look forward to working with all of our student leaders (both elected and otherwise) as we continue making Sicomac the best school it can be, with student voices leading the way.
Lost and Found
With the change in seasons, our Lost and Found is filling up quickly. If you are visiting for Parent-Teacher Conferences, please take a moment to stop by the Lost and Found table to check for any missing items that might belong to your child.

Sicomac Strut & Food Drive
The annual Sicomac Strut will take place this Thursday! This fun event is a great way for students to get moving and celebrate the importance of a healthy lifestyle.
This year, our PE teachers have added a food drive component to raise awareness about hunger and to give our community a chance to help those in need. Please see the graphic below for details about suggested donation items. Students are encouraged to bring in their donations all week. Parents: Please send donations with students.

Reminder: School Start Time
We are proud to be a school that holds high academic expectations and sets students up for success beyond Sicomac. Every minute of the day is thoughtful planned by our talented staff to maximize learning and engagement.
A few reminders about arrival:
Doors open at 8:35 AM. At this time, students are welcomed into the building. Students should be accompanied by an adult if arriving before 8:35 as supervision is not available before this time.
Morning Meeting begins promptly at 8:50 AM. Please ensure your child arrives in time to unpack, settle in, and be ready to learn by 8:50. A calm start sets the tone for a successful day.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support. Sicomac is a truly special place because of our amazing students, families, and staff. I am grateful for all you do to help make our school community thrive.
