Poet Amy Ludwig Vanderwater met with 5th-grade student writers for a Q&A about writing poetry. Mrs. Pricken (co-teacher with Mrs. Cordello in 5C) connected with Amy via Instagram and arranged an inspirational virtual meeting to answer students' questions about poetry. Mrs. Vanderwater shared her process for writing poems, where and how she gets her ideas, and offered useful tips for student poets to feel free to write poetry while noticing everything around them. The timing was perfect as students were in their Narrative Poetry writing unit. This was such a beautiful experience for all involved!
