students in the woods on global school play day

As you are aware, Coolidge School participated in Global School Play Day on Wednesday. Students spent time engaged in unstructured play for a portion of the day (depending on the grade level). This served as a wonderful learning opportunity for our students and we all believe this was a great experience for them. I was so impressed by the decision-making, maturity, and creativity that we observed from our students on that day.

On Friday we had a School-Wide meeting. It was great to see so many students dressed in spirit wear or blue/yellow showing their Cougar Spirit! Student Council members took a leadership role in this meeting by discussing with the student body the importance of keeping our bathrooms clean and safe. They stressed this is the responsibility of all students! We ended the meeting by celebrating and singing Happy Birthday to our January and February birthdays and then singing our “Cougar Pride” song.

February 1st marks the beginning of Black History Month. At Coolidge School, we have worked hard to transform our teaching to incorporate diversity and diverse viewpoints throughout the curriculum and throughout the year. We look forward to utilizing this month to celebrate and honor Black History Month.

Kindergarten Registration for the 2023-2024 school year is underway. Parents should register online on our District website between January 27th and February 18th. Please spread the word to any families who do not have children already in the Wyckoff Schools.
