We seem to have accumulated a large number of hats, sweatshirts, jackets, etc. in our Lost and Found. If you are missing an item please have your child check the Lost and Found bin located in the front foyer or come and check yourself. We will donate unclaimed items to a local charity at the end of the month.
VALENTINE’S DAY
Valentine’s Day will be approaching shortly. As a reminder, food or goody bags are not permitted to be brought into school to be shared with classmates. Students in grades K-3 typically give a card to each classmate (be sure there is a card for each child in the class). No food may be attached to the cards but, if you want, students may attach a simple non-edible item such as a sticker or a pencil. Students in grades 4-5 do not exchange cards in school but teachers celebrate the holiday with their students in different ways.
WYCKOFF EDUCATION FOUNDATION (WEF) - CASINO NIGHT
The Wyckoff Education Foundation’s annual Casino Night will be held on March 2nd from 7-11 pm at Macaluso’s in Hawthorne. Please consider joining the community for a fun and memorable evening of dinner, cocktails, a silent auction, and dancing. The Wyckoff Education Foundation (WEF) raises funds that support the educational mission of each of the five Wyckoff schools. I look forward to seeing many of our Coolidge families there!

MUSIC UPDATE
New Year, New Songs! In music class, 4th and 5th graders have begun to learn songs for The Lion King, including phrases in the Xhosa, Zulu, and Swahili dialects. 1st and 2nd graders are starting to learn the lyrics to songs from this year's Mini-Musical "A Barnyard Moosical." The recorders are blossoming for our 3rd-grade students as we continue to learn instrumental techniques and our first three pitches "B, A, and G." Kindergarten musicians continue to explore and play with high and low pitches.
5TH GRADE BAND TRIP TO NEW YORK CITY
We are excited to announce that all district 5th grade band students will be attending a field trip this week to attend a special “Young People’s Concert” performed by the New York Philharmonic in New York City. This will be a wonderful experience for our young musicians and something we hope becomes an annual tradition for our 5th-grade band students.
CONNECTED PARENT SERIES MATH WORKSHOP NEXT WEEK
The Wyckoff Connected Parent Series continues next week with a workshop for K-2 parents titled “How to Support Your Child at Home with Math Concepts and Math Fluency.” The one-hour seminar, led by second-grade teachers Ms. Wogisch and Ms. Ross, will provide parents with tips, suggestions, and ideas to support their kindergarten, first, or second-grade child in mathematics at home. The workshop, open to all district parents, will be held on Wednesday, January 25th at 7:00 pm at Washington School, 270 Woodland Ave. To register for this workshop, or to see the full listing of seminars in the Connected Parent Series, visit our district website.
