As we transition back to normal school routines, I wanted to provide parents and caregivers with the following reminders when visiting the school for a meeting or if you are volunteering.
A driver’s license or key fob (linked to your license) is required every time you are entering the building and sign in at the main office.
Wear your visitor badge so it is visible to all.
Please do not go to your child’s classroom to wave hello.
If signing out your child early, please email the teacher and the front office ahead of time whenever possible.
The Wyckoff School District will again be using an online method for the payment of milk (for all students) and recorders (3rd grade only). If you are not already registered for PaySchoolsCentral, you may do so by logging on to www.payschoolscentral.com. Select “Register” and follow the prompts.
Please note that you will need your child’s 6-digit Student ID # which is located on the Parent Portal in Genesis next to your child’s picture. If you have difficulty logging on to the Genesis Parent Portal, please contact the helpdesk at genesis@wyckoffps.org.
MILK
Milk is offered to grades K-5 on a daily basis. You can purchase milk for the entire year. Milk will begin on Monday, September 19th. The total cost is $110.
RECORDERS (3rd Grade ONLY)
Students in Grade 3 learn to play the recorder. The recorder is a real instrument that is used as part of the 3rd-grade music program throughout the district and will be useful in teaching the fundamentals of music reading and ear training. The cost of the recorder is $5.
I hope everyone’s school year is off to a good start. I have seen many smocks in school already which makes this art teacher smile. If you have not brought in a smock already please send one in as soon as possible. An old T-shirt works great. It should have your child’s name written large and clear just under the front neckline. Please send it inside a ziplock bag also labeled with your child’s name. Looking forward to making lots of art with your children.
I have linked below the Wyckoff Board of Education attendance policy and regulation for your information. Regular attendance at school is important for students as they develop routines and consistency in their learning. You may want to review the BOE regulation when planning vacations or other times when children are missing school. Additionally, be sure to plan accordingly so students arrive at school on time, as late arrivals pose a distraction to the child as well as class instruction. Per BOE policy, letters are sent to parents to report excessive unexcused absences as well as excessive tardiness.
