Dear Coolidge Families,
As we wrap up another wonderful week, I want to take a moment to reflect on the incredible energy and spirit around our school. From highlighting the values that make our community strong to seeing our students' excitement during special events, it has been a fantastic week. None of this happens without the dedication of our staff, families, and volunteers, and I would like to share a few special words of thanks.
Notes of Gratitude
A huge thank you to Mrs. Ward for coordinating our Week of Respect activities. These events provided a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the kindness and respect our students demonstrate year-round. I am so proud of our students for stepping up as leaders and helping foster a strong, supportive school community. We kicked off the week with our October schoolwide meeting, led by Safety Patrol leaders, where we re-emphasized our CARES core competencies: Cooperation, Assertiveness, Responsibility, Empathy, and Self-control.
Thank you to the Coolidge PTO for hosting last week’s Book Fair, and to all the parent volunteers who helped everything run so smoothly. The students were thrilled to browse and pick out their own books!
It was fantastic to see so many students participate in our annual Walk and Bike to School Day, promoting physical activity, safety, and environmental awareness. A special appearance from the Coolidge Cougar made the morning even more memorable!
Upcoming Events & Important Announcements
Halloween Parade
We will hold our annual Halloween parade on Friday, October 30 at 2:30 pm.
K-1 students may wear their costumes to school in the morning.
2-5 students are asked to bring their costumes to school and change into them after lunch.
Children may not wear masks into the school building.
Once the parade begins, they may wear masks. Please be sure that masks allow for unrestricted vision.
Please refrain from dressing children in gruesome, violent, or vulgar costumes.
Do not send children to school with toy weapons or props as they will not be allowed during the parade.
Spectators and Parade Route
The parade will run outdoors only, drizzle or shine.
The parade will take place on the sidewalk around the school.
Families are encouraged to join us. Feel free to watch from the school grounds. Please keep the sidewalks clear for our students.
Alternative Activity
We understand that some families may prefer that their children not participate in this activity; dressing in costume is optional and at the discretion of each family.
For children who choose not to participate, an alternative activity will be available.
Classroom Celebrations
Class parents will be joining classrooms at some point during the day to engage the students with a fun game, activity, or craft.
No food will be served in school.
We ask parents not to send in any treats or goodie bags (edible or non-edible) with their children, as teachers are not permitted to distribute those to the students.
Parent Teacher Conferences | 11/9 and 11/16
Parent/Teacher Conferences will take place on November 9 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on November 16 from 2:00-7:00 PM.
There will be no school for students on 11/9 and a minimum day on 11/16.

You should expect an email from your child’s teacher at the end of next week with more information and a link to sign up for a conference. If you would like any other staff members present, please let your child’s teacher know.
Additionally, feel free to reach out to any special area teacher or other staff member via email to set up a separate conference with them. The Staff Directory can be found here.
