During our schoolwide meeting on Friday, the full cast of Willy Wonka provided a sneak peek by performing one of the hit songs from the show. This served as a great warm-up for our performers, while piquing the interest of the student body! Students who have a birthday in March joined the cast for the singing of Happy Birthday.

This week, we celebrated Read Across America with some fun activities taking place in the media center and throughout the day in different classrooms. Our first and fifth-grade Book Buddies met up this week as part of Read Across America to spend some quality time reading together!

During the month of March, Coolidge students are spreading smiles! The Coolidge Student Council is partnering with the organization, Color a Smile, which sends cheerful coloring pages to those in need of a smile, such as senior citizens or troops overseas. This New Jersey-based organization has sent over 2 million drawings! Coolidge Students can find the coloring pages on the bulletin board next to the main office. They can choose which picture they like and color it in. When they are done, they can turn it in to the folder attached to the same bulletin board. These will be due by this Friday, March 13th. Let’s spread some smiles, Go Cougars!
Parent/Teacher conferences for Kindergarten students will be taking place during the week of April 13th. Please be on the lookout for an email sent from your child’s teacher.
We still need some parent volunteers to help convert the Coolidge gym into Willy Wonka's chocolate factory for the musical! Sign up for the following shifts:
Monday, 3/9 8:30-11:30 AM
Monday, 3/9 12:30-3:30 PM
Thursday, 3/12 8:00-8:30 PM (clean-up after the musical)
Contact Mr. Cosman if you have any questions.
On Thursday, March 12th, @ 10:00 AM, Coolidge School will open its doors for all community members to enjoy this year's Main Stage Musical, Willy Wonka Kids. Free tickets are available to reserve on a first-come, first-served basis; you do not need a child in the show to attend this performance. No school-age children will be permitted to attend. All seats will be general admission for this performance. You may register here.
Parents are invited to check out our March Specialist Newsletter with news from our special area classes, including updates on our Author Visit (thank you, PTO), Read Across America, Willy Wanka School Musical, and the PE Winter Olympics.
