We are pleased to have our annual PTO Book Fair taking place this Tuesday and Wednesday in the MPR. Be sure to check out the weekly email updates from our PTO co-presidents, as there are many exciting events and fundraisers coming up. Your support and volunteerism help make our school community strong and benefit the academic experience of our students. Thank you!
It was great to see so many families out at last weekend’s WEF Color Run. Please consider finding ways to support the Wyckoff Education Foundation. Additionally, reach out to them if you are interested in serving as a trustee with the Foundation. We can use about two additional trustees from Coolidge School.
Mrs. Han is so excited to be able to kick off our One School, One Book program this week. On Monday, all students will receive a copy of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl, so please be on the lookout. Kindly check the inside cover for a label and QR code that will take you to our media center website, where you will find more information and activities regarding our One School, One Book program. We encourage all parents to get involved in this program by actively reading and discussing together with their child(ren). Thank you again to the Coolidge PTO for purchasing the books for each student!

WEEK OF RESPECT- OCTOBER 6TH-10TH
At Coolidge School, it is our goal to promote respectful behavior from our students throughout the entire school year. During the Week of Respect, we spend additional time celebrating and reinforcing this important message with our students. During the week of October 6th, Mrs. Mapes has planned some meaningful activities, including fun spirit days, Kindness in Chalk, classroom lessons, read-alouds, and a schoolwide meeting. Specifically, we are going to introduce the core competencies of cooperation, assertiveness, responsibility, empathy, and self-control (or CARES Competencies) with our students.
SPIRIT DAYS- OCTOBER 6TH-10TH
To help celebrate the Week of Respect, we have planned some fun spirit days for next week:
Monday- We are a respectful school! Wear blue or spirit wear to show your school spirit and to support Stomp Out Bullying and our schoolwide meeting.
Tuesday- At Coolidge, we are a cooperative team! Wear your favorite sports team jersey or t-shirt!
Wednesday- We are strong and proud to be ourselves! Wear something that makes you feel confident and be you!
Thursday- We like to put our best foot forward! Wear fun or crazy socks!
Friday- We live in a respectful community! Wear your Wyckoff gear, sports uniform, or anything green!
WALK TO SCHOOL DAY- OCTOBER 8TH
Our first school-wide PTO Green Team event is Coolidge's Annual Walk to School Day this Wednesday, October 8.
Get some fresh air and leave your car behind!
Walk or bike to school to get some exercise and reduce traffic and air pollution!
Students will be greeted by the Cougar and some music upon their arrival on this fun kick-off to the school day!
Fun Idea: Reach out to your friends and neighbors to create a “Walking School Bus” from your neighborhood. Don’t forget about friends who live too far to walk, or are unable to walk with their child(ren). Invite them to be dropped off at your house so they can walk too.
Thank you for joining in on the fun!
