The Wyckoff Education Foundation (WEF) is celebrating its 35th year with an Anniversary Celebration on April 8, 2025, at the Brick House in Wyckoff. WEF has generously contributed so much to the Wyckoff Schools over the years, greatly benefiting all of our students. The New Jersey Department of Education has created a Parent Resource Page for the NJSLA. Parents may view this page for resources. In particular, scroll down on this page to view practice tests, tutorials, and released items. Helping students prepare for assessments and encouraging them to reach their potential fosters a strong academic mindset that will be beneficial in years to come.
Report cards are now live on the Genesis Parent Portal for grades 1-5. Please know that report cards are intended to be a way to communicate with parents how their child is progressing towards meeting the grade level standards for a particular subject area. Learning is a continuum, and there will inherently be areas of strength and areas of growth for each student. If you have any difficulty accessing the portal, please email our Genesis helpdesk at genesis@wyckoffps.org.

Common Sense Media offers parents resources regarding excessive screen time, social media use, cell phones, and online safety for children. Go to the “Podcasts, Parents’ Guides, and Tips & FAQs” pull-down menus for great resources. Unfortunately, negative consequences of student technology use outside of school often permeate the school day leading to distractions, off-task behaviors, inappropriate language, and conflicts. We manage and work with students on all of this, but it takes the focus off instruction, learning, and academic achievement. Let’s continue to work together to help our students navigate these challenges. Close supervision of student technology use at home is strongly encouraged.
During March, Coolidge students are spreading smiles! The Coolidge Student Council is partnering with the organization, Color a Smile, which sends cheerful coloring pages to those in need of a smile, such as senior citizens or troops overseas. This New Jersey-based organization has sent over 2 million drawings! Coolidge Students can find the coloring pages on the bulletin board next to the main office. They can choose which picture they like and color it in. When they are done, they can turn it in on the folder attached to the same bulletin board. These will be due by Friday, March 28th. Let’s spread some smiles this March, Go Cougars!
