We are looking forward to seeing everyone at Back to School Night on Tuesday. Read below for additional information.
Students in grades 1-5 worked hard during the past week to complete i-Ready assessments. Data from these assessments will help teachers identify strengths in their students as well as areas for growth. This information will help drive instructional decisions and personalize learning.
STUDENT COUNCIL AND ART STUDIO- 4TH AND 5TH GRADES
This week 4th and 5th grade students learned about two extracurricular activities, Art Studio and Student Council, available to them at Coolidge School. It is important to note that if a 5th-grade student is a part of Safety Patrol, it is alright to skip his/her post to attend either Art Studio or a Student Council meeting.
For Art Studio, parents should be on the lookout for an email from Mrs. Boyle with more information and a sign-up link.
On Thursday, fourth and fifth graders listened to a presentation from advisors about the upcoming student council elections. Parents of 4th and 5th-grade students should have received an email with more information. Reach out to advisors Mrs. Turtoro and Mrs. Pennino with any questions.

IMPORTANT SAFETY REMINDERS
Please take note of the following safety reminders:
Per the Wyckoff Town Ordinance, dogs are not allowed on school property. If you bring your dog to school for pick-up or drop-off please stay back towards the sidewalk area.
Drive carefully in our parking lots and the streets adjacent to the school during drop-off and pick-up. Let’s be courteous to our neighbors living in the streets around the school.
The custodian or Office Rob will close the main lot at the end of the day when it is filled. This is done for safety reasons. Please plan accordingly.
The lot to the left of the school near the upper playground is designated for staff.
VISITOR/VOLUNTEER GUIDELINES
We are very appreciative of parent volunteers who serve pizza and bagel lunch at school, assist in the media center, or volunteer in some other capacity. With that being said, safety, security, and the orderly operation of the school must take priority. Please review the following guidelines when volunteering at school, especially for pizza and bagel/Jersey Mike’s lunch.
General Volunteer Guidelines:
All visitors must sign in at the main office. You will need your driver’s license or fob. The visitor’s badge must be worn clearly on your shirt/jacket.
When volunteering in the school you are not permitted to take photos or videos of students. Do not text photos or send updates to parents as to how their children are doing.
Do not use student bathrooms. If you need to use the restroom, you must report back to the main office and you will be directed from there.
Exterior doors cannot be propped open at any time (even for a few seconds).
When you have finished volunteering, you should report back to the main office to sign out.
Pizza and Bagel/Jersey Mike’s Lunch Volunteer Guidelines:
Your job is to make sure the students have the food they ordered. Do not sit down and join the children at the lunch tables. It is their time to socialize with their classmates.
You are not responsible for supervision or for “watching students” at lunch.
Although your parenting instincts might compel you to intervene, get involved with students, impose discipline, or try to help, the staff are responsible for the care of the students.
When finished with your shift, you should leave the MPR and sign out at the main office.
Parents are not permitted to walk around the school, visit the door of their child’s class, or stay in the MPR after their assigned shift.
MILK ORDERS FOR YOUR CHILDREN
Our district will again be using an online method to pay for milk. Payment must be made by using PaySchools Central. If you are not registered for PaySchools Central, you may do so by logging on to www.payschoolscentral.com and select “Register” and follow the prompts.
Please note that you will need your child’s 6-digit Student ID# which is located on the Parent Portal in Genesis next to your child’s picture. If you have difficulty logging on to the Genesis Parent Portal, please contact the Genesis Helpdesk at genesis@wyckoffps.org. We will also accept checks for payment that can be sent in through the school to the front office and made out to the Wyckoff Board of Education.
Milk
Milk is offered to grades K-5 daily. You can purchase milk for the entire year. Milk options are 1%, skim, and chocolate. Please indicate your choice. Milk will begin on Monday, September 16th. The total cost is: $110.00.
If you have any questions please contact Randi Venema at 201-848-5710 X1202.
