A Coolidge tradition continued on June 14th as we gathered around the Flag Pole/Peace Pole for a special ceremony of patriotic songs and Student Council speeches to celebrate Flag Day. Our Safety Patrol captains began the ceremony by raising the flag and leading the student body in the Pledge of Allegiance and the singing of the Star Spangled Banner.
On June 10th, Coolidge School welcomed back our Class of 2017 students (current high school seniors) for our annual Reunion. They enjoyed walking the hallways, watching a video, eating some ice cream, and, of course, taking a lot of photos. An impromptu recess session of basketball and “wall ball” even broke out. We wish these students the best of luck in college and beyond. Once a Cougar, always a Cougar.
This past week our third-grade students enjoyed a fun day of learning, discovery, hiking, and exploration at the Weis Environmental Center in Ringwood. We thank the parents who helped make this a successful trip for our students.
Our 4th and 5th grade instrumental band students performed two concerts this past week. We are proud of their efforts preparing all year for these concerts and growing as musicians. The Arts are so important for a well-rounded educational experience and we encourage our students to continue their growth in this area.
The final episode of The Cougar’s Cave is available here for your viewing. Congratulations to our 5th-grade students for their work producing these episodes all year under the direction of Mrs. Provost.
Report cards will be available on the Genesis Parent Portal after 2:00 PM on June 20th.
The Lost and Found is overflowing! All items will be donated to a local charity at the end of the school year so please stop by the front foyer to look for any missing articles of clothing. Parents are encouraged to write their child’s name on pieces of clothing so we can return it to them during the school day.
IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM MRS. KREY/SCHOOL NURSE
Just a reminder to you that you must pick up your child’s medication for this school year on the last day of school. It will not be sent home with your child.
Please make arrangements to see me just before or after dismissal on June 20th to take your child’s medication home. Any medication not picked up will be discarded.
Per state law, we must have new Medication Administration forms filled out by you and authorized by your child’s physician each year. The forms will be available when you pick up your child’s medication or can be accessed on the Coolidge website.
FIFTH-GRADE MEMORY BOOK CELEBRATION/VIDEO
Fifth-grade parents are invited to join us in the gym at 9:45 AM on Wednesday, June 19th. During this time we will recognize each fifth grader during a brief ceremony and then share the “Memory Book” video that was created by our 5th grade parent reps. Parents may enter directly via the gym doors and sign in there. Please refer to the email from the 5th-grade parent reps for more information about this event as well as the 5th-grade clap out.

Mark your calendars, this year's event is being held on Saturday, September 7, at 11 am at Eisenhower Middle School. This will be the official kick-off of the school year for the entire community.
Additionally, there is some friendly competition among the 5 schools:

We want to win the “Top School for Donations”! Please help us get there! Every little bit counts!
