STUDENT COUNCIL BOOK DRIVE

The Coolidge School Student Council is partnering with Mrs. Needleman for Read Across America Week, to bring you the Coolidge Book Drive 2024! The book drive will be held on Tuesday, March 5th. Students are encouraged to donate ONE gently used but well-loved book, that they are ready to pass on to a new reader. Bins will be located at the front and 

back entrances for drop-off. Please contact Mrs. Pennino (apennino@wyckoffschools.org) or Mrs. Turtoro (jturtoro@wyckoffschools.org) with any questions. Happy Reading, Cougars!

READ ACROSS AMERICA

We are very excited about Read Across America Week from March 4th to 8th and have a lot of fun activities planned. It's going to be such a great week! Thank you Mrs. Needleman for helping to organize all of these events. Check out our fun Spirit Days that are also noted below 

Monday, March 4

  • Book Character Day. Dress up as a favorite book character. 

  • Schoolwide Meeting to celebrate books and show off our costumes.

Tuesday, March 5

  • Reading Makes You Bright. Wear neon or bright colors.

  • Student Council Book Drive (more info above)

Wednesday, March 6 

  • Cozy Up with a Good Book. Wear pajamas. 

  • Schoolwide Book Buddies

Thursday, March 7 

  • Read My Shirt. Wear a shirt that needs to be read.

  • Outdoor Book Walk

Friday, March 8 

  • Team Up for Reading-Wear a sports jersey or your Coolidge spirit wear.

NEW JERSEY STUDENT LEARNING ASSESSMENT (NJSLA)

The New Jersey Student Learning Assessment (NJSLA) for grades 3-5 will take place on the dates listed below. For planning purposes, please do not plan vacations, days off, or doctor’s and dentist appointments on these days for your students. Students should arrive at school on time, well-rested, with a positive attitude and approach to try their hardest on these assessments. Here are the dates:

May 7th-8th- Language Arts Grades 3-5

May 9th-10th- Science Grade 5 ONLY

May 14th-16th- Mathematics Grades 3-5

FAMILY STEAM NIGHT

Join Mrs. Needleman, media specialist, and Mrs. Provost, technology teacher, on Thursday, March 21, 2024, from 4:00-5:30 in the Coolidge MPR for Coolidge's Family STEAM Night. You and your children will engage in hands-on activities and get a glimpse of some of the technologies they use in the classroom. Space is limited, and will be capped, so sign up today.
