As a reminder, there will be no school for students on Monday. Please join me in honoring the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. this week. Coolidge teachers will spend time with their students discussing the importance of Dr. King’s message of peace, equality, and justice.
Coolidge School will be participating with other schools in the District in a pilot of the diagnostic and instructional program i-Ready. At Coolidge, students in grades 3-5, as well as certain students in K-2, will be taking the i-Ready diagnostic assessment this month instead of the AimswebPlus assessment. I-Ready is an adaptive assessment (in which questions adjust in difficulty based on progress) that is used to identify both areas of strength and opportunities for growth. It also contains an online instructional platform that contains personalized lessons and resources based on the student’s diagnostic results. We are looking forward to piloting this program and identifying its effectiveness in supporting our students and their academic progress.
Congratulations to our 5th-grade instrumental music students who performed two concerts on January 12th. We are proud of them for all of their hard work preparing for the shows and their accomplishments.
