Report cards are now available for grades 1-5 via the Genesis Parent Portal. Please know that report cards are intended to be a way to communicate with parents how their child is progressing towards meeting the grade level standards for a particular subject area. Learning is a continuum, and there will inherently be areas of strength and areas of growth for each student. Given that we utilize a standards-based report card, the indicators provide a context for whether the student is meeting, exceeding, or progressing toward a standard. Oftentimes, there are one or two benchmarks in a given subject area that a student is still working towards meeting. This should be met with an open, growth mindset, and a feeling that the student just hasn’t met the standard yet, but is working towards it. Please refer to the information about standards-based report cards, including the benchmark links for each subject area, on our website.
COUGAR’S CAVE- 5TH GRADE BROADCAST (UPDATE FROM MRS. PROVOST)
The Cougar’s Cave is a fifth-grade broadcast created by Coolidge 5th graders. This year, each class will partake in generating ideas for the episodes, writing scripts, and filming in front of a green screen.
5T was the first class to try it! They came up with a variety of segment ideas. We narrowed them down based on interest and the holiday season. Students selected the roles they wanted ranging from anchors to camera/filming. They used class time to write their scripts and rehearse. Finally, we took some time to record and bring their ideas to life! I put the clips onto iMovie, and the first broadcast was created.
In 5th grade, we will focus on studying iMovie, so eventually, the students will be able to produce their own episodes.
This was a complete success, and I am so proud of the work they did! We hope you enjoy watching it as much as enjoyed making it!

THIRD GRADE WINTER CONCERT- NOTE FROM MR. COSMAN
Our winter concert, "Believe" will take place on December 19th. All your children have been working so hard getting ready for this performance -- they can’t wait to showcase their beautiful voices. Please remember to join us Tuesday, December 19th in the Coolidge gymnasium at 9:15 AM. You can sign in and enter through the gymnasium doors.
The students are encouraged to wear anything festive for the holidays. It could be something nicer, like a dress, or shirt and tie, or something silly like an ugly sweater and a festive hat.
