Update from Mr. Famularo

January 25, 2021

Click here for a copy of Dr. Postma's Wyckoff Schools Weekly sent to parents on January 22nd. Included in this letter are important new guidelines regarding COVID protocols that were delivered to schools towards the end of last week.  The District has updated the following document: Should I Report to School Flow Chart

The dates for the Marking Period 2 have been adjusted to end on March 19th instead of March 12th. Report cards will now be available to parents on the afternoon of March 26th.

Dear Parents of “Incoming Sibling Kindergartners,”

In anticipation of starting the kindergarten registration process for parents who already have children at Coolidge School, we are looking for some initial information so we can proceed with an efficient process that will also ensure the safety and well-being of our Coolidge families and staff.

Registration will be taking place online in February; the specific dates will be forthcoming.  At this time, we would like to ask that if you have a child who you plan to register for kindergarten for the 2021-2022 school year, please call Mrs. Gneiding at 201-848-5710, ext. 1201 or email her at cgneiding@wyckoffschools.org between 9:00 am and 3:30 pm by Wednesday, January 27th.  We would like to get an idea of our projected sibling enrollment for the next school year.

During this week I am going to be speaking with students regarding norms and expectations for PM virtual instruction. Please help reinforce the following with your children:

  • Attendance at all 1:50 scheduled Meets and 2:35 specials is mandatory. Parents should email the teacher if a child is unable to attend for any reason.
  • Students should arrive at all Meets on time and should remain on-line for the entire time period. Parents should email the teacher if a child is unable to do this for any reason.
  • Teachers will communicate with parents any issues regarding attendance at scheduled Meets.
  • Meet links are only for class purposes and students should not be accessing them at other times. Teachers will now get a report of who enters a Meet after class time so we are now able to better monitor this.
  • For the most part, screens/videos should be on for the duration of the Meet and students should be engaged in the lesson. Parents can communicate with teachers any concerns or questions regarding this.

The Wyckoff School District is responsive to the needs of our community, and we'd like to hear what technology support our parents and caregivers would like to learn more about. Please visit our Google site at https://sites.google.com/wyckoffschools.org/wyckoffschooldistrictparenttec/home?authuser=0 for more tutorials on commonly used technology in our district. If you don't see something there that you'd like more information on, please let us know in this survey. Thank you for your input!
